Kimi Raikkonen has stated that heading into the 2016 Formula One season his third with Scuderia Ferrari following his return to the outfit in 2014 that he is not setting any targets for the new season just as long as the team are competitive and build on the foundation from this season.
Following a tough return to Ferrari in 2014, Raikkonen’s performances in 2015 were much better however the Iceman was still outperformed by new team mate Sebastian Vettel.
Raikkonen scored three podium finishes in 2015 in Bahrain, Singapore and at the season finale Abu Dhabi Grand Prix while Vettel scored three wins. Raikkonen is hopeful however that the team’s improved performance in 2015 will roll into 2016.
Speaking to F1i Raikkonen commented by saying:
We’re going to give our best and hopefully it’s enough to fight for championships, We keep improving, following our own way of doing the things that we’ve done from last year to this year and hopefully then it’s enough to be where we want to be as Ferrari.
Raikkonen hopes that for the team they can challenge for the championships and that the Prancing Horse are going to do everything to succeed next season.
