The Renault Sport F1 Team confirmed on Wednesday that Racing Director Frederic Vasseur has left the Enstone with immediate affect.
The news comes just one day after the Mercedes AMG PETRONAS F1 Team confirmed the departure of executive director (technical) Paddy Lowe who is expected to join Williams, however Lowe could potentially be in line for the job vacated by Vasseur.
In a statement, Renault said:
Both parties remain committed to maintaining the good working relationship they have enjoyed and expect this to take a new form sometime in the future.
Renault endured a difficult return to Formula One as a works team in 2016 finishing the year in ninth place with eight points.
