Red Bull Racing’s Daniel Ricciardo led the way in the opening practice session ahead of Sunday’s Hungarian Grand Prix. The Australian set a fastest time of 01:18.486s ending the session just ahead of Ferrari’s Kimi Raikkonen.
Lewis Hamilton was third fastest for the Mercedes AMG PETRONAS F1 Team ending the morning just ahead of Red Bull Racing’s Max Verstappen.
Valtteri Bottas was fifth fastest for Mercedes just ahead of Sebastian Vettel in the second Ferrari. McLaren Honda’s Fernando Alonso and Stoffel Vandoorne were seventh and eighth place for the Woking based outfit.
The Renault Sport F1 Team’s Nico Hulkenberg and Jolyon Palmer rounded out the top ten. Palmer brought out the red flag shortly before the end of the session.
Williams Martini Racing’s Felipe Massa ended the session in 11th place just ahead of Force India’s Sergio Perez. Daniil Kvyat was 13th just ahead of Carlos Sainz. Lance Stroll was 15th in the second Williams ending the session just ahead of the Haas F1 Team’s Romain Grosjean. Alfonso Celis was 17th for Force India just ahead of Marcus Ericsson.
Antonio Giovinazzi was 19th fastest while Pascal Wehrlein rounded out the order in 20th place.
