On Sunday, the Sonsio Grand Prix of Road America saw an incredible 444 on-track passes throughout the 55-lap race. There were a total of 386 overtakes for a position.
The number of overtakes can be put down to the new pavement that was done this year, and Alex Palou says that he thinks there will be better racing here next season because the edge of the circuit won’t be as slippery.
The Spaniard said you were able to overtake during the race. At times throughout the race, it looked like chaos, but it was controlled for the most part.
One driver who did a fantastic job throughout the race was Chip Ganassi Racing’s Scott Dixon in the No.9 PNC Bank Honda who made up 19 spots to finish the race in fourth.
