Dale Coyne Racing with RWR driver Sting Ray Robb in the No.51 Biohaven Honda says the Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach was incredible.
The INDYCAR rookie started Sunday’s race 21st and made his way up the field before a drive through penalty shuffled him down the order.
Robb would recover to finish 21st and speaking following the action he said:
The race was incredible. We went forward a few spots but that was a lot of hard work for just a few spots gained. Huge shout out to the crew. They did a good job to keep me going and we stayed out of trouble and stayed off the wall. So, I’m happy with that, we’re moving forward and I’m excited for Barber.”
In contrast to Robb, his teammate David Malukas had a weekend to forget after contact with another car on lap 28 sent him to pit-road.
Malukas would finish 20th and speaking following the action he said:
We finished the race but I’m sad because I made more mistakes today. So, this weekend is going to be a weekend to absolutely forget. I drove poorly in qualifying and then still made more mistakes in the race. I’m going to go home and kick myself a little bit. But I’ll be back and ready for the test in Indy. I feel really bad for the team. They did an incredible job to make sure the car was back to where it needed to be for the race and the pit stops were so quick, and it would have been a really good race for us if I didn’t make my mistakes. I’ve learned from it, and I will move forward and be ready for our next race at Barber.
