It has been a crazy week for Ireland’s James Roe. The Andretti Global INDY NXT presented by Firestone driver revealed on Tuesday that he fractured his right hand in Detroit last month.

Taking to Facebook, Roe said:

No screwing around anymore!

Been a wild past 7 days. Banged up my hand after wheel to wheel contact at the Detroit GP a few weeks ago. With pain ever since, an MRI post Laguna last Monday determined a fractured scaphoid in my right hand.
Thanks to Dr.Usmani and the team at OrthoIndy for getting me right into surgery and to NTT INDYCAR SERIES medical and Dr.Trammell, we’re cleared to race this week with a carbon brace.

See ya in Ohio!

With six races left this season Roe is tenth in the championship on 163 points.
