The NTT IndyCar Series maybe on an enforced shutdown at the moment due to the ongoing COVID 19 global pandemic however that doesn’t mean that there is no news as on Monday, McLaren F1 Senior Aerodynamicist Ivan Roldan announced on Twitter on Monday morning that he been named Lead Aerodynamics Engineer with the Arrow McLaren SP Chevrolet NTT IndyCar Series team where he will co-ordinate and supervise the Aerodynamics programme.

Taking to Twitter on Monday, Roldan said:

Extremely happy to announce that, as of today, I become Lead Aerodynamics Engineer – IndyCar @McLarenF1, to coordinate and supervise the aerodynamics programme in our partnership with @ArrowMcLarenSP. Very much excited for what we have ahead of us! 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼

A number of Formula One personnel from Woking have already joined the team’s NTT IndyCar Series programme.

The Indianapolis based outfit have also brought in veteran NTT IndyCar Series engineer Craig Hampson to lead their engineering team.

The 2020 NTT IndyCar Series season will get underway on May 30 with the Chevrolet Belle Isle Grand Prix presented by Lear double header on May 30. Arrow McLaren SP drivers Oliver Askew and Patricio O’Ward took part in the inaugural NTT IndyCar Series iRacing Challenge at Watkins Glen International circuit on Saturday where on his virtual NTT IndyCar Series debut, Oliver Askew finished in fifth place which is where he started the 45 lap race in his No.7 Arrow McLaren SP Chevrolet.
