The Mercedes Formula One Team once again locked out the front row with Nico Rosberg starting Sunday’s season finale at the Yas Marina Bay circuit in Abu Dhabi from pole position following on from his victory last time out in Brazil while world champion Lewis Hamilton will start the race from second place ending up 0.337s behind the German.
Ferrari’s Kimi Raikkonen did a fantastic job for Ferrari as the Finn will start the race from third place on grid which if all goes well in the race should go a long way in ensuring that the Iceman finishes the year ahead of Valtteri Bottas 6th place.
It was a great session for the Sahara Force India Formula One Team as Sergio ‘Checo’ Perez will start the race from fourth place just ahead of Red Bull Racing’s Daniel Ricciardo.
Nico Hulkenberg in the second Force India will start the race from seventh place just behind Valtteri Bottas while Felipe Massa in the second Williams starting the race from eight place. Daniil Kvyat who is waiting to hear if he will be re-singed to Red Bull next season will start the race from ninth place.
Scuderia Toro Rosso’s Carlos Sainz rounded out the top ten ending the session 2.471s behind Rosberg.
Max Verstappen will start the from 11th place while it was a great session for McLaren Honda’s Jenson Button as the 2009 world champion will start the race from 12th place just ahead of Pastor Maldonado in the Lotus.
The Sauber F1 Team’s Felipe Nasr will start the race from 14th place just ahead of Romain Grosjean. It was an extremely tough session for Sebastian Vettel as the Ferrari team made the wrong call on his tyres in Q1 and as a result the four time world champion will start the race from 16th place on the grid just ahead of McLaren Honda’s Fernando Alonso.
The Sauber F1 Team’s Marcus Ericsson will start the race from 18th place. The Manor F1 Team’s Will Stevens and Roberto Merhi rounded out the order in 19th and 20th place respectively.
