Mercedes AMG PETRONAS F1 Team’s Nico Rosberg repeated his victory at the Australian Grand Prix from last year leading home team mate and reigning world champion Lewis Hamilton with Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel completing the podium.

Vettel who started the race from third place made an incredible start as did team mate Kimi Raikkonen with the pair leading after the first lap.

On lap 17 of the race, the event was red flag following a HUGE crash between McLaren Honda’s Fernando Alonso and the Haas F1 Team’s Esteban Gutierrez, Alonso’s car was completely destroyed as the Spaniard rolled his car several times before stopping upside down fortunately the double world champion was unhurt.

All the drivers returned to the pit-lane and the race was eventually restarted behind the safety car. Red Bull Racing’s Daniel Ricciardo had a great home race as he ended the event in fourth place just ahead of the Williams Martini Racing team’s Felipe Massa.

It was an absolutely sensational Grand Prix debut for the Haas F1 Team and Romain Grosjean as the Frenchman finished the race in sixth place giving the American team their first points in their very first race.

Sahara Force India’s Nico Hulkenberg did a great job coming home in seventh place just ahead of Williams Martini Racing’s Team’s Valtteri Bottas.

Toro Rosso’s Carlos Sainz managed to keep his hot tempered team mate Max Verstappen behind him as the pair rounded out the top ten.

Jolyon Palmer was just one place away from a dream debut as the Englishman drove a fantastic Grand Prix for the Renault Sport F1 Team as he ended the race in 11th place just ahead of team mate Kevin Magnussen.

Sergio Perez ended the race in 13th place in the second Force India ending the race just ahead of his former team mate Jenson Button who was 14th for McLaren-Honda.
