Mercedes AMG PETRONAS F1 Team’s Nico Rosberg who started today’s season finale at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix at the Yas Marina circuit from pole position claimed his first ever hat trick of victories by leading home world champion Lewis Hamilton to take his 14th career win.

Ferrari’s Kimi Raikkonen drove a great race today following a fantastic weekend to secure his third podium finish of the season ending the year in fourth place just ahead of Valtteri Bottas.

Sebastian Vettel in the second Ferrari drove a great recovery race following a tough qualifying as he made his way from 16th place on grid to finish the race in fourth place.

It was a fantastic race for Sergio ‘Checo’ Perez as the Mexican who started the race from fourth place on grid came home in fifth place just ahead of Red Bull Racing’s Daniel Ricciardo in sixth while Nico Hulkenberg in the second Force India ended the race in seventh place.

Felipe Massa in the Williams managed to finish the race in eighth place just ahead of Romain Grosjean who in his last race for the Lotus F1 Team managed to bring the car home in the points and in doing so ensured that the Enstone outfit finished the season in sixth place in the championship.

Daniil Kvyat rounded out the top ten in the second Red Bull just ahead of Toro Rosso’s Carlos Sainz who in turn ended the race just ahead of McLaren Honda’s Jenson Button who did a great ob after the tough season the Woking based outfit have had to end the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix in 12th place.

Valtteri Bottas was unable to beat his fellow Finn Kimi Raikkonen to fourth place in the championship as a result of a tough race which was compounded by an incident in the pit-lane where he collided with Jenson Button which resulted in Bottas receiving a penalty.

The Sauber F1 Team duo of Marcus Ericsson and Felipe Nasr finished the race in 14th and 15th place respectively while Max Verstappen was handed a time penalty for causing an avoidable collision and was classified in 16th place however the Dutch teenager can be delighted with his performance in his opening season as a Formula One driver.

Fernando Alonso finished the race in 17th place despite having an issue with his car while Will Stevens and Roberto Merhi were classified in 18th and 19th place respectively while Pastor Maldonado was the only driver to retire from the race.

So all that is left for me to say is what an incredible season we have had. Congratulations one again to Lewis Hamilton and Mercedes and ROLL ON F1 2016
