Former Formula One driver Nico Rosberg is set to replace Mercedes non executive chairman Nike Lauda as a pundit on German broadcaster RTL’s coverage of Formula One in 2018.

The 2016 Formula One champion confirmed the news to German newspaper Bildeston saying that he is continuing the family tradition as his father, Keke Rosberg was replaced by Niki Lauda at RTL.

Despite retiring from Formula at the end of the 2016 season, Rosberg remained contracted to Mercedes as an ambassador but says that his contract runs out at the end of 2017 and as a result he will be free to join RTL as an impartial pundit.
