Alexander Rossi has denied media reports that he has signed a new contract to race with Andretti Autosport for 2018. It was reported on Monday that the 2016 Indianapolis 500 winner will stay with Honda and Andretti for the 2018 season, however the American has denied that any deal has been signed.
Rossi who finished the Bommarito Automotive Group 500 at Gateway Motorsports Park in sixth place at the weekend confirmed on Monday night that he is in talks with other Honda powered teams about next season.
Paddock Eye understands that Schmidt Peterson Motorsports James Hinchcliffe is keen to.get Rossi as his team mate for next season but it is also believed that Rossi is a target for Chip Ganassi Racing whose driver line-up with the exception of Scott Dixon is uncertain for 2018.
Rossi said that to the best of his knowledge team owner Michael Andretti has made no decision on what engine supplier his team will use next season.
