Long Beach winner Kyle Kirkwood was fourth fastest with a 01:06.9722s just ahead of Josef Newgarden and Graham Rahal while Scott McLaughlin was seventh just ahead of Alexa Palou and Team Penske’s Will Power.
It was a solid session for Meyer Shank Racing’s Simon Pagrnaud who rounded out the top ten with a time 01:07.2917s ending up just ahead of Juncos Hollinger Racing’s Callum Ilott and Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing’s Jack Harvey. Pato O’Ward was 13th while Dale Coyne Racing’s Sting Ray Robb in the No.51 Biohaven Honda had a solid session in 14th place with a time of 01:07.3479s just ahead of Rinus VeeKay.
Championship leader Marcus Ericsson was P16 just ahead of David Malukas while Helio Castroneves was P18 just ahead of Christian Lundgaard while Chip Ganassi Racing’s Marcus Armstrong rounded out the top twenty with a 01:07.6868s.
Devlin DeFrancesco was 21st just ahead of Juncos Hollinger Racing’s Agustin Canapino. Pole-sitter Romain Grosjean in the No.28 Delaware Life DHL Honda set a time of 01:07.9639s in 23rd.
Conor Daly’s tough weekend continued in 24th place just ahead of AJ Foyt Racing’s Benjamin Pedersen while Felix Rosenqvist and Santino Ferrucci rounded out the order.
