Andretti Autosport’s Alexander Rossi got his chance to sample a Verizon IndyCar Series machine when he drove his new No.98 Honda for the first time at the pre-season test at Sebring Raceway on Wednesday.

Speaking to IndyCar.com having taken to the track for the first time, Rossi commented by saying:

It’s been a positive day and a half, so far, The car is pretty similar to other things I’ve driven. There’s quite a bit of downforce which is fun for a driver to have. At the end of the day, it’s an enjoyable car to drive and I’m looking forward to racing it next week.

Rossi joined KVSH Racing’s Sebastien Bourdais, his Andretti Autosport team mate’s, Ryan Hunter Reay, Carlos Munoz and Marco Andretti along with Team Penske’s Juan Pablo Montoya, Will Power, Helio Castroneves and Simon Pagenaud as they prepare for the opening race of the season, the Firestone Grand Prix of St Petersburg which takes place in less than two weeks time.
