Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach pole-sitter Alexander Rossi in the No.27 NAPA Auto Parts Honda for Andretti Autosport says that the team are hoping to take advantage of the opportunity that they have.
The Californian has had a strong weekend to date having topped the timesheets over the weekend and speaking following the session he said:
It would be great to win a home race. “This pole was exponentially harder to win than last year’s … so this one was more special.”
“We have a good opportunity (in the race), and it’s important that we take advantage of it.
Rossi set a pole position time of 01:06.4811s and he went on to say:
It was about doing it on that one lap. “I was happy we decided to run two sets of reds (Firestone alternate tires in the Firestone Fast Six). We hadn’t done that in the past, but it made the difference today.
