IndyCar Series driver Alexander Rossi has joined Acura Team Penske’s 2019 driver line up for the IMSA WhetherTech Sportscar championship events, the Rolex 24 at Daytona and the 12 Hours of Sebring.
Speaking about the news, Rossi who finished runner to Chip Ganassi Racing’s Scott Dixon in the 2018 IndyCar Series championship commented by saying:
I have watched and raced against Team Penske in INDYCAR and I have a lot of respect for the organization and what they do and how they do it. “I really appreciate Andretti Autosport for allowing me the opportunity to represent Acura in some of the biggest sports car races in the world. I can’t wait to work with Helio and Ricky, to learn from them and hopefully contribute to some wins and a championship for Acura Team Penske.
President of Honda Performance Development, Art St Cyr commented on the news of Rossi’s arrival at Team Penske by saying:

Alexander has been a great representative of Honda in the IndyCar Series, from his Indy 500 victory in 2016 to competing for the title this past season. Team Penske also announced on Friday that their IndyCar Series driver Simon Pagenaud will return to their IMSA programme to drive the No.6 Acura ARX 05 DPi in the endurance rounds of the championship alongside Juan Pablo Montoya and Dane Cameron.
