Andretti Autosport’s Alexander Rossi in the No.98 NAPA Auto Parts / Curb Honda was fastest in the second group during practice on Armed Forces Pole Day at Indianapolis Motor Speedway for the Indianapolis 500 presented by PennGrade Motor Oil.

Defending Indianapolis 500 winner Juan Pablo Montoya was second fastest in the No.2 Verizon Team Penske Chevrolet just ahead of reigning series champion Scott Dixon in the No.9 Target Chip Ganassi Racing Team Chevrolet.

Takuma Sato was fourth fastest for AJ Foyt Racing just ahead of Tony Kanaan in the No.10 NTT Group Chevrolet.

JR Hildebrand was sixth fastest just ahead of Ed Carpenter and Oriel Servia while Sebastien Bourdais was 11th
