NTT IndyCar Series driver Alexander Rossi in the No.27 NAPA Auto Parts Honda for Andretti Autosport heads into this weekend’s Honda Indy Toronto in Canada hoping to close the gap to points leader Josef Newgarden. The Californian who took victory last time out at Road America commented ahead of this weekend’s race saying:
Toronto is one of the most exciting races of the season for us due to the energy of the crowd and the city. This weekend kicks off a three-week stretch of critical races, so the whole team and I will be needing to bring our ‘A’ game. I feel rested and ready and cannot wait to get started.
Ryan Hunter Reay in the No.28 DHL Honda heads to Toronto following an eleventh place finish in Road America and speaking ahead of the race this weekend he said:
I’ve always really enjoyed racing in Toronto. The Toronto Indy car fanbase is really strong and to add to that, we have a really strong support group with our DHL partners in the area. Our goal is to record our second win at Toronto this time around and get the momentum rolling for the second half of the season.
Zach Veach in the No.26 Gainbridge Honda is hoping for a strong race this weekend in Toronto saying:
“Toronto was a place that started a really strong second half of the season for us last year with a seventh-place finish followed by consecutive top 10s the next three races. We really need that same momentum again this year. We’ve spent a lot of time preparing for this race and I’m excited to get our one trip out of the United States started.”
Marco Andretti in the No.98 US Concrete Honda is looking forward to the race this weekend saying:
Toronto is a good place to get back on the podium. We had a strong car last year but had to pit on the last lap from fourth for fuel, so we need to capitalize on what we had last year. I love the city, the track and fans in Toronto.
