Alexander Rossi says that he held several conversations with Ed Carpenter about joining Ed Carpenter Racing for the 2025 NTT INDYCAR SERIES.
Speaking to Paddock Eye during an event in Indianapolis on Thursday evening, the 2016 Indianapolis 500 winner said that for a time he could have signed for Chip Ganassi Racing, Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing and Dale Coyne Racing.
Rossi explained that he and Ed Carpenter own a plane together and during one of their trips, Carpenter asked what Rossi was planning to do for 2025 and Rossi asked the same question to Carpenter.
It wasn’t until the season ended that they got to sit down and do a deal.
Rossi revealed that the agreement with Ed Carpenter Racing could not be done until the charter agreement was in place which meant waiting for a number of signatures.
Rossi concluded by saying that he is excited about the 2025 NTT INDYCAR SERIES season.
