Carlos Sainz says that he wabts a two year contract with whichever team he races for in Formula One in 2019.
It has been reported that with Aston Martin Red Bull Racing set to announce an extension to Daniel Ricciardo’s contract this week that Sainz will then be free to leave the Red Bull family.
Paddock Eye understands that Sainz has been linked with a move to McLaren to replace either Fernando Alonso who it is believed is still heading to the US to pursue a career in IndyCar or to replace Stoffel Vandoorne.
There is also still the possibility that he wil remain with Renault alongside Nico Hulkenberg.
Since joining Renault on loan from Toro Rosso this season the Spaniard has been able to demonstrate his talents having scored points on a regular basis during the first half of the 2018 season helping Renault to jump up to fourth in the Constuctors championship.
