NTT IndyCar Series veteran Takuma Sato is on the verge of moving to Dale Coyne Racing for the 2022 season with team owner Dale Coyne revealing that a deal is 80 percent done for the 2017 and 2020 Indianapolis 500 winner to join his team.

Coyne has revealed that there are still some moving parts to the deal to be concluded but he is confident it will be completed soon.

Paddock Eye understands that Sato, who currently races for Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing will replace Romain Grosjean in the No.51 Nurtec ODT Honda as Grosjean is poised to replace Ryan Hunter-Reay at Andretti Autosport.

Should the deal be completed it would leave the door open for Jack Harvey to be confirmed at Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing after confirming his departure from Meyer Shank Racing.
