Scuderia Ferrari’s Kimi Raikkonen is in action at the Barcelona Circuit Du Catalunya in Montmelo on Thursday as his time in the SF16-H comes to a close.

The Finn who will hand the car over to team mate Sebastian Vettel on Friday for the final day of winter testing debuted Ferrari’s ‘halo’ closed cockpit solution on Thursday.

The Iceman completed 41 laps this morning with a fastest time of a 1m 22.765s. The new closed cockpit system is set to make its debut in Formula One in 2017 as way of protecting drivers in the event of an accident where debris may strike the driver and the halo option was developed in the wake of the death of Jules Bianchi following the Frenchman’s accident at the Japanese Grand Prix in 2014.
