W Series driver Naomi Schiff says she has her fingers crossed that will be back competing in the series when it gets back on track in 2021.
The all female W Series which made its racing debut in 2019 took a hiatus in 2020 due to the ongoing COVID-19 global pandemic however, the W Series has not been standing still with the series having reached an agreement with Formula One to run as its support category as several events in 2021 and speaking to Paddock Eye on Wednesday, Schiff said she is excited that the W Series has teamed up with Formula One.
It was announced on Wednesday that W Series champion Jamie Chadwick will race in the inaugural Extreme E all electric SUV racing series in 2021 with Veloce Racing and speaking about her own future, Schiff said that she would be interested in racing anything with a steering wheel which includes the possibility to race in the Indianapolis 500 if the right opportunity arises.
For now however, Schiff says that she is focused on returning to the W Series in 2021. It is not yet known how many drivers will be on the W Series grid for 20221.
