Seven-time Formula One world champion Michael Schumacher is to be inducted into the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Hall of Fame the Speedway confirmed on Friday. The former Ferrari driver was the most successful Grand Prix driver during Formula One’s time at The Brickyard.

Schumacher took victory five times from Formula One’s eight trips to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course from the year 2000 to 2007.

Schumacher retired from Formula One in 2006 but returned to the sport in 2010 when Mercedes returned to Formula One as a works team having signed a three-year contract with the Brackley-based outfit.
