Dale Coyne has confirmed to Paddock Eye that his team will confirm their second driver for the 2017 Verizon IndyCar Series by the end of the month.
Coyne was speaking during a Verizon IndyCar Series teleconference following the announcement that Sebastien Bourdais has joined the Honda powered team ahead of the 2017 Verizon IndyCar Series season.
Coyne said that the team have a number of very talented drivers to choose from. One such driver is Conor Daly who finished the 2016 Verizon IndyCar Series season in 18th place in the standings on 313 points and scored his first podium finish at the Chevrolet Duel In Detroit Race 1 where he finished the event in second place behind Bourdais.
The team also have the very talented RC Enerson who made his Verizon IndyCar Series debut with the outfit this season and was extremely impressive. When asked by Paddock Eye:
Dale, having named Sebastien today, do you have an approximate timeframe of when you’ll have the second car confirmed?
We hope to have it done by the end of this month. Love to have it done by the end of this month. Not sure that will happen yet, but that’s kind of a goal I’m setting. We have some favorite sons we’d like to try to do something with. Hopefully that happens. We’ll see what happens here in the next couple weeks.
