Bruno Senna has expressed an interest in racing in the Verizon IndyCar Series and with that news it could be the perfect opportunity to see the names Honda and Senna together again.
Bruno’s uncle, three time Formula One world champion Ayrton Senna had an extremely close relationship with the Japanese manufacturer during his time with McLaren and even after that.
Honda have a huge presence in the Verizon IndyCar Series not just as an engine supplier but also as a sponsor to many of the circuit on the schedule.
Ayrton Senna conducted a test in IndyCar with Team Penske in 1992 with a view to making the switch from Formula One to IndyCar but ultimately that move didn’t happen. Bruno has been racing in Formula E recently and is also part of McLaren’s set up in sports car racing. The McLaren Group also have close ties with Honda as the Formula One team are powered by Honda.
