The Team Penske organization and Shell Corporation confirmed on Friday that they have extended their long standing partnership in both the Verizon IndyCar Series and the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series through to the end of 2020.
Shell and Pennzoil began their association with Team Penske in 2011, the origin agreement with Penske dates back to 1983 and won two Indianapolis 500’s with Rick Mears in 1984 and 1988 respectively.
The contract extension with Shell will also see three time Indianapolis 500 winner Helio Castroneves run the No.3 Shell V-Power NiTRO+ Chevrolet for the 101st running of the Indianapolis 500 presented by PennGrade Motor Oil.
Speaking about the contract extension with Shell, Team Penske owner Roger Penske commented by saying:
