Dale Coyne Racing’s Nolan Siegel, who has yet to compete in an NTT INDYCAR SERIES race competitively, says that his first morning in the car with the hybrid system at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway on Friday went very, very smoothly.

Speaking to Paddock Eye during the lunch break on Friday, Siegel, who is still competing in the INDY NXT presented by Firestone championship alongside his INDYCAR SERIES commitments, said:

Watching Jack yesterday (Thursday), I noticed there were no issues at all. There’s a lot to learn from the team and the driving side. I am super happy with how the morning went from all sides. I learned a huge amount, and I think the team learned a huge amount. It was a very promising start. I am new to INDYCAR and Jack has a ton of INDYCAR experience and having someone like that, he went to Thermal, he will be here for the open test on the Speedway and having someone with experience is a huge plus for me to look at his data and pick out things that are good for me.

Siegel will make his race debut with the team at the Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach from April 19-21.
