The Silverstone circuit, venue of the FIA Formula One British Grand Prix could be sold to Coventry based car manufacturer Jaguar Land Rover after the current owners of the circuit, the BRDC voted to continue negotiating with the car company who are owned by Indian company Tata.
The sale of Silverstone would, it is believed see Jaguar Land Rover move from its Coventry HQ to a site at the former airfield.
Jaguar Land Rover are also reportedly looking at developing Silverstone by building a hotel on the site. The BRDC have invested millions into the redevelopment of the site in Silverstone including reformatting the layout of the circuit as well as building ‘The Wing’ – the state of the art Paddock and pit facility.
The BRDC has owned the Silverstone circuit since 1971 with the British Grand Prix the centre piece in the British motor racing calendar.
