Two-time Indianapolis 500 winner Takuma Sato who will compete in a partial NTT INDYCAR SERIES program in 2023, says that sitting on the Chip Ganassi Racing timing stand at St Petersburg gave him a fresh perspective.
Sato will drive the No.11 Niterra Honda for Chip Ganassi Racing for Texas this weekend and the 107th running of the Indianapolis 500 presented by Gainbridge next month.
Speaking ahead of the race in Texas this weekend, Sato said that sitting on the timing stand of the No.11 Ridgeline Lubricants Honda as he shares the car with Marcus Armstrong, who Paddock Eye understands will transition to a full-time seat later this year.
Sato said that he was able to see things that he wouldn’t see in the cockpit.
