Two-time NTT IndyCar Series champion Josef Newgarden goes into this weekend’s Portland Grand Prix at Portland International Raceway, the penultimate race of the 2022 NTT IndyCar Series season will have a six-place grid penalty for Sunday’s race.

The Tennessee-native who is currently three points behind championship leader Will Power received the grid penalty for an unapproved engine change earlier in the season and had a nine-place grid penalty for the final oval race of the season at World Wide Technology Raceway last time out.
