Hyundai Motorsports Dani Sordo goes into the final stage of Rally Italia Sardegna today leading the event by 9.2s from Toyota Gazoo Racing’s Sebastien Ogier.
Thierry Neuville is third just ahead of championship leader Elfyn Evans.
Speaking following the action with SS15, the drivers said:
Car #44 G. Greensmith – E. Edmondson (Ford Fiesta WRC): “Enjoying it. It has been OK. Little technical issue in there, nothing serious it seems. Power Stage points maybe are out of reach, the guys at the front are pushing at a ridiculous level. I will just enjoy the Power Stage”.
Car #7 P.L. Loubet – V. Landais (Hyundai i20 Coupe WRC): [did not speak]
Car #8 O. Tänak – M. Järveoja (Hyundai i20 Coupé WRC): “It is power stage now. So we need to drive well”.
Car #3 T. Suninen – J. Lehtinen (Ford Fiesta WRC): “We are safely through, all OK”.
Car #33 E. Evans – S. Martin (Toyota Yaris WRC): “Obviously we had to keep Teemu behind. Let’s see how it worked out this morning. Just trying to be clean and get through.”
Car #11 T. Neuville – N. Gilsoul (Hyundai i20 Coupe WRC): “It was good but I do not know what he [Ogier] is doing. I tried my best, I had a good clean run to be honest. The car is working well, it should not be too bad but I do not know.”
Car #17 S. Ogier – J. Ingrassia (Toyota Yaris WRC): “Yeah, a good one but one more to go!” [1.6s quicker than Neuville]
Car #6 D. Sordo – C. Del Barrio (Hyundai i20 Coupe WRC): “It is never safe, I do not know. I do not understand the times. They are very very fast in this stage. I am really surprised.” [in the lead by 9.2s, dropped a little bit of time]
