Chip Ganassi Racing confirmed earlier this week that after 27 years Target will leave the Verizon IndyCar Series at the end of the season.
The news came as a surprise to many but something else that is coming to an end is Ganassi’s contract with engine supplier Chevrolet however it is likely that the team will stick with the Detroit based manufacturer.
Ganassi with Chevrolet power has been very successful with Scott Dixon winning the championship with Chevrolet in 2015 winning four races. It is likely that the team will also have a four car operation.
Chevrolet are currently at the top of their came in the Verizon IndyCar Series and Ganassi and Penske who are both powered by Chevrolet have six drivers in the top six the series standings.
