Aston Martin Cognizant Formula One Team Chairman Lawrence Stroll has revealed that the 2021 Formula One season opening Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne has been postponed.

The season was due to get underway on March 21 however speaking to Reuters on Thursday as his team announced their new title sponsor, Stroll said:

Melbourne has been — it’s not officially announced but it will be — not cancelled but postponed. We will go there sometime in the fall (autumn) and the first race will be Bahrain.

Paddock Eye understands that in his first meeting with the teams, new Formula One Chairman and CEO Stefano Domenicalli agreed with the teams to move pre season testing from Barcelona to Bahrain.
