Williams Martini Racing’s Lance Stroll is set to make the move from Grove to Silverstone this week.
Paddock Eye understands that the Canadian will move to the Racing Point Force India Formula One Team which his father Lawrence now owns. We understand that Stroll will have a seat fitting with the Silverstone based outfit on Tuesday before making his debut with the team at the Italian Grand Prix next weekend.
It is understood that Stroll will replace Esteban Ocon at the Silverstone based outfit. Speaking to Channel 4 F1 following the Belgian Grand Prix, Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff who manages Esteban Ocon has said that they are talking to several teams about next season.
Wolff revealed that prior to the summer break, Ocon had a deal in place to race for the Renault Sport F1 Team next season however they went with Daniel Ricciardo instead.
Paddock Eye believes that there could potentially be a seat swap in store with Stroll and Ocon trading seats.
new Racing Point Force India F1 Team Principal Otmar Szafnauer refused to confirm the news when asked by Channel 4 F1 following the Belgian Grand Prix.
