McLaren Racing CEO Zak Brown, who is in California this weekend for the Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach, says that the team will decide over the summer whether they will add a fourth car full-time in the NTT INDYCAR SERIES in 2024.
Speaking to NBC Sports during their coverage of the opening practice of the weekend in Long Beach, Brown said that he has been very impressed with how the team got their season started. Pato O’Ward, the driver of the No.5 Arrow McLaren Chevrolet, goes into the weekend leading the championship by his two second-place finishes in the opening races of the season in St Pete and last time out in Texas.
Arrow McLaren announced last year that the 2021 NASCAR CUP Series Kyle Larson, in partnership with Hendrick Motorsports, will be the team’s fourth entry in the 2024 and 2025 Indianapolis 500.
Brown said that they usually makes decisions about the following season throughout the summer and that this year is nothing different. Tony Kanaan has joined the team for this year’s Indianapolis 500, the team revealed their special liveries for the 500.
