Veteran Formula One engineer Pat Symonds has officially confirmed that he has begun his new role as technical consultant to the Cadillac F1 Team.
Symonds joins the team from his role at Formula One where he worked on the 2026 technical regulations.
Speaking about the new chapter in his career Symonds said:
Starting with the proverbial ‘clean sheet of paper’ presents far more opportunities than it does challenges.
“The team will be built around not just the highest engineering standards but also the highest ESG standards as we work toward making it the best team to work for in Formula 1.”
Symonds will work alongside Cadillac F1 Team Principal Graeme Lowdon and the team’s technical department.
Cadillac will compete in Formula One from 2026 using Ferrari engines and gearboxes.
