The Hyundai Motorsports WRC Team had a fantastic start to Arctic Rally Finland Lapland on Friday as Ott Tanak ended the opening day on Friday in first place just ahead of his team mate Craig Breen as the Irishman makes his first appearance of 2021 in the FIA World Rally Championship season. Tanak leads the way by 16.2s.
Toyota Gazoo Racing WRT’s home hero Kalle Rovanpera ended the day in third place just ahead of Hyundai Motorsports Thierry Neuville.
Eflyn Evans ended the day in fifth place for Toyota Gazoo Racing just ahead of M-Sport Ford WRC Team’s Teemu Suninen who ended the opening day in sixth place just ahead of Toyota’s Takamoto Katsu and Oliver Solberg who ended the day in eighth place.
Toyota Gazoo Racing’s Sebastien Ogier ended the day in ninth place while Gus Greensmith rounded out the top ten.
