Hyundai Motorsports Ott Tanak took his first victory of the season on Sunday as the FIA World Rally Championship completed their first event at Artic Rally Finland in Lapland on Sunday. The Estonian dominated the event and came home just ahead of Toyota’s Kalle Rovanpera.
Thierry Neuville completed the podium for Hyundai Shell Mobis World Rally Team in third place just ahead of his team mate Craig Breen who overcame tyre issues to finish his first WRC event of the season in fourth place, the Waterford native had a fantastic power stage on the final day coming home in second place just 0.3 behind Kalle Rovanpera.
Eflyn Evans came home in fifth place for Toyota Gazoo Racing while Takamoto was sixth just ahead of Oliver Solberg.
It was a strong event for the M-Sport Ford World Rally Championship Team as Teemu Suninen came home in eighth place just ahead of his team mate Gus Greensmith. Esapekka Lappi rounded out the top ten. The next event on the WRC calendar is Rally Croatia.
