Team Penske announced on Tuesday that they have signed a multi-year contract extension with longtime sponsor Verizon.

The agreement with see Verizon continue to serve as primary sponsor to defending NTT IndyCar Series champion Will Power who will once again compete in the No.12 Verizon 5G Team Penske Chevrolet for the entire 2023 season including the 108th running of the Indianapolis 500 presented by Gainbridge on May 28.

Verizon began their partnership with Team Penske in 2009, when Will Power ran a partial schedule for the team in the NTT IndyCar Series and speaking about today’s announcement, Team Penske owner Roger Penske said:

“Verizon has been a great partner of Team Penske since our first season together in 2009. “With their commitment to cutting-edge technology and performance, Verizon has been an integral part of our success in INDYCAR competition and the company continues to deliver for our team and for the INDYCAR SERIES. We are excited to build on our success together for the future.”

Over the course of their partnership, Will Power has scored 41 victories and 68 pole positions and speaking about today’s news, the Australian said:

Very few drivers are lucky enough to have the support of one partner for as long as I’ve had the opportunity to work with Verizon. “They have been instrumental in my career – a career that would likely have looked much different without them. I still have things I want to accomplish, and I look forward to representing them and bringing the Verizon Chevy back to the winner’s circle.”

Power will begin the defence of his championship with the Firestone Grand Prix of St Petersburg which takes place from March 3-5.
