NTT IndyCar Series team owner Dale Coyne says his outfit are working extremely hard to get their cars ready for the season opening Genesys 300 at Texas Motor Speedway which takes place in three weeks time.
The NTT IndyCar Series should have been preparing for the 104th running of the Indianapolis 500 presented by Gainbridge which was originally scheduled to take place this weekend at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway but has been postponed until at least August 23 due to COVID 19.
Speaking to Racer.com, Coyne said that they gave their engineers a week off after they returned from St Petersburg in March and then the state went into lockdown.
Coyne said that nothing has been done with the cars since then so they are still in St Pete trim.
The team who have Santino Ferrucci in the No.18 Team SealMaster Honda and rookie Alex Palou in the No.55 Dale Coyne with Team Goh Honda are working in parallel to get both the race cars for Texas and the cars for the Indy 500 ready while observing social distancing in their race shops.
The Genesys 300 at Texas Motor Speedway takes place as a one day event with practice, qualifying and the race all taking place on Saturday June 6.
