President of Texas Motor Speedway Eddie Gossage has confirmed that all the Verizon IndyCar teams agreed unaminously to reschedule the Firestone 600.

The Firestone 600 at Texas Motor Speedway was abandoned on lap 71 of the 278 lap race due to inclement weather.

The Verizon IndyCar Series and Texas Motor Speedway have agreed that the race will now take place on Saturday August 27. There will be a practice session followed by a full field autograph session.

The race will be restarted in the order that it was abandoned in meaning that Schmidt Peterson Motor sports James Hinchcliffe will spend the next two months ad race leader.

The next stop on the Verizon IndyCar Series schedule is the Kohler GrandPrix at the Road America circuit in Wisconsin on June 26.
