The all new Extreme E electric SUV racing series that will makes its debut in January 2021 in Senegal recently added Chip Ganassi Racing and Andretti Autosport to the roster of teams to enter the series.
For Andretti Autosport they are continuing their journey in electric racing having been involved in the ABB Formula E world championship for many years.
Chip Ganassi Racing will make their electric racing debut next season with Extreme E and it is an area where team owner Chip Ganassi us extremely interested in.
Ganassi and Andretti join an exciting line up of teams with HWA who look after the Mercedes AMG EQ team in Formula E having signed up to run in Extreme E.
Ulrich Fritz, CEO of HWA said:
We are looking forward to Extreme E. This is an even bigger adventure for us than when we joined Formula E last year. However, I am confident that we will again be able to demonstrate our 360° motorsport expertise in the extreme conditions we will face In the new series.
“We are impressed by the concept and the people behind the series. We have got to know them in Formula E and have worked very well with them. The Extreme E project is a great opportunity – for us as HWA, for the technological shift towards more E-mobility, and for a more conscious approach to the environment and finite resources.
ABT who have seen success in the DTM and the ABB Formula E world championship have also signed up to Extreme E and speaking when they were announced as a team, Hans Jurgen ABT CEO of the team said:

That’s why we were one of the first teams to join Formula E back in 2013 and also why we chose to become a member of the Extreme E family at this early stage.

Veloce Racing have also joined the series and have support from Aston Martin Red Bull Racing chief technical officer Adrian Newry who commented saying:
We are delighted to be announcing the launch of Veloce Racing, as well as confirming our place as a fully-fledged licensee entrant into Extreme E.
“Everyone involved in Veloce Racing is extremely passionate about racing, competition and cutting-edge technology, as well as tackling environmental issues that face the world today, so we couldn’t be happier to be taking part in Extreme E.
“The series is an exceptional platform for developing new technology, drawing attention to the earth’s environmental challenges and driving change. Veloce will play an active role in as many of Extreme E’s legacy projects as possible to help regenerate the local environments. We now can’t wait to get started on our campaign.
The team are also supported by former Formula One driver and ABB Formula E champion Jean Eric Vergne who is a team co founder saying:

“For me, it was clear I had to be involved since I first saw the concept. Together with my other co-founders, we have worked incredibly hard to make this happen. We plan to be disruptive in our approach as we drive awareness of climate change.”
QEV are the other team to join Extreme E and have vast knowledge of e racing as they run Mihandra and the NIO Formula E teams and speaking about their entry into Extreme E, QEV Technologies CEO Miguel Valldecabres said:
We are very excited about this championship. Through this incredible challenge, we are sure we will be able to innovate and create technology that will once again be applied from race to road. QEV Tech has a track-record of success across a huge variety of racing events. We have a winning team in every way! The path is really ambitious, and we are looking forward to kick-off.”
