AJ Foyt Racing’s Sebastien Bourdais was delighted with the opening day of Indy 500 testing went on at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway on Thursday where he ended the session fastest having completed Refresher Orientation.
Speaking following the action, the Frenchman said:
Pretty good refresher for the A.J. Foyt No. 14 That ROKiT car was pretty good. It always feels a little different when you start at low speeds and the car’s never really settled, but we got through both phases and are ready to go tomorrow and start working properly. It’s all good.
Ed Carpenter Racing’s Rinus Veekay in the No.21 Sonax Chevrolet crashed heavily in opening minutes of the rain affected session and speaking afterwards he said:
“I wanted to do as many laps as possible to be successful. “I’m very sorry. It was a weird moment.”
