The 2019 NTT IndyCar Series season is on a mid-summer break as the teams prepare to head north of the border for the Honda Indy Toronto in two weeks time many are saying that this year’s championship is between just two drivers, Team Penske’s Josef Newgarden and Andretti Autosport’s Alexander Rossi.

Indianapolis 500 winner Simon Pagenaud who swept the month of May winning both the Grand Prix of Indianapolis and the Indianapolis 500 is 61 points behind his team mate Josef Newgarden while defending series champion Scott Dixon who drives the No.9 PNC Bank for Chip Ganassi Racing is in fourth place 94 points behind Newgarden.

The Iceman came from the back of the field in Road America to finish the REV Group Grand Prix of Road America in fifth place.

Speaking following the race, Dixon said that he was happy that was within the 100 points gap and feels that if he goes over the 100 point behind mark he would be out of the championship.

The Iceman has a great record in Toronto having won here numerous times including the double header in 2013 and taking victory here in 2018. The Iceman showed last weekend that he is still in the running for the championship despite being 94 points back.
