Chip Ganassi Racing’s Alex Palou in the No.10 DHL Honda dominated qualifying for Saturday’s Sonsio Grand Prix of Indianapolis on the IMS road course.
The Spaniard who goes into this weekend’s race with a 61 point lead in the championship was fast off the hauler and speaking following qualifying he said:
We had a bit of an advantage there with a set of new soft tire. “I think some people used them in Q1 (first round of qualifying), and we didn’t. Maybe that’s where the time comes.
“But that No. 10 DHL car was amazing. Super-fast. It’s been super-fast all season, honestly, but today it’s been on fire.”
Palou’s teammate’s Kyffin Simpson and Scott Dixon will roll off from 10th and 16th respectively.
