The NTT IndyCar Series were at World Wide Technology Raceway on Saturday for the Bommarito Automotive Group 500 which saw Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing’s Takuma Sato take his first victory of the season coming home 0.0399s ahead of Ed Carpenter Racing’s Ed Carpenter who finished the race in second place while Tony Kanaan completed the podium.

Speaking following the race Takuma Sato said:

Yes, I’m sure, “Winning (from) pole at Barber was very significant – just the domination of the weekend is always great credit for the team and satisfaction. But this win is so special – beside Indy 500, obviously nothing like (that). This is just so emotional. Gave me unbelievable boost.

“(It’s) a great story.”

Ed Carpenter in the No.20 Sonax Chevrolet came home in second place and speaking following the action he said:

It could have been (different winner) if we had a little longer straightaway or another lap,”
