The NTT INDYCAR SERIES will have a new broadcast home from the 2025 season onwards. NBC Group, which has broadcast America’s premier open-wheel racing series exclusively since 2019, will hand over the rights to the series to Fox Sports. Fox Sports has been successful in the bid to claim the next rights agreement, according to Adam Stern from Sports Business Journal.
The current agreement between Comcast-owned NBC and Penske Entertainment Corporation (owners of the NTT INDYCAR SERIES and Indianapolis Motor Speedway) expires at the end of the season.
The announcement that Fox Sports will take over INDYCAR broadcasts, including coverage of the Indianapolis 500, The Greatest Spectacle In Racing, is expected later this week. One of the critical elements of the new agreement is that Fox Sports has reportedly guaranteed INDYCAR primetime network broadcast windows.
No details of the proposed deal have been made public at this point; Paddock Eye understands that at least one personality from NBC’s coverage of INDYCAR, Leigh Diffey, will not be moving to Fox Sports due to his existing agreement with NBC, which goes beyond the NTT INDYCAR SERIES.
