Ferrari’s Kimi Raikkonen ended what has been a tough 2015 Formula One campaign with a podium finish at the season finale Abu Dhabi Grand Prix at the Yas Marina Bay circuit on Sunday.
The Iceman who this year teamed up with four time world champion Sebastian Vettel at the Prancing Horse started the race from third place on the grid behind the Mercedes duo of pole sitter Nico Rosberg and world champion Lewis Hamilton. Raikkonen made a good getaway to maintain his third place behind Lewis Hamilton as they went into the tight turn 1.
The Finn explained that the car felt good all weekend and that third on Saturday in qualifying was the best result that they could achieve.
In his ongoing battle with fellow Finn and the man who was expected to replace him next season Valtteri Bottas, Kimi ‘the Iceman’ Raikkonen kept his cool in the heat of Abu Dhabi and came out on top finishing the year in fourth place on 150 points, 14 ahead of Bottas in the Williams.
