The grid for this weekend’s 109th running of the Indianapolis 500 presented by Gainbridge has been updated after Team Penske’s Josef Newgarden and Will Power were sent to the back of the field for the Greatest Spectacle In Racing.
Josef Newgarden, the defending race winner, moves to 32nd while Will Power starts the race from 33rd place. So, what does that mean for the grid. Firstly, Conor Daly moves up to 11th on the grid in the No.76 ampm Juncos Hollinger Racing Chevrolet. At the same time, Alexander Rossi starts the race from 12th just ahead of Chip Ganassi Racing’s Kyffin Simpson.
Team owner driver, Ed Carpente,r starts the race from 14th just ahead of AJ Foyt Racing’s Santino Ferrucci. Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing’s Devlin DeFrancesco starts the race from 16th place ahead of Sting Ray Robb and Ed Carpenter Racing’s Christian Rasmussen.
Kyle Larson starts the race from 19th just ahead of Louis Foster and Callum Ilott. Helio Castroneves’ Drive For Five starts from 22nd just ahead of Kyle Kirkwood and Nolan Siegel.
Dreyer and Reinbold Racing’s Ryan Hunter-Reay and Jack Harvey start the race from 25th and 26th place, respectively. Colton Herta starts the race from 27th, just ahead of Graham Rahal.
Marco Andretti starts the race from 29th just ahead of Marcus Armstrong and Rinus VeeKay. Josef Newgarden and Will round out the order.
